I took Mama Rae to Forage for her birthday after seeing some great reviews, and I was particularly interested by the fact that they use local, sustainable ingredients. However, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The waitress informed us of the smaller portions of their dishes, and that they’re meant for sharing.. and wow, they were in fact outrageously small. The food was alright, we got the apple & kale chips, marinated octopus, and cultivated mushrooms.. but I don’t think it was quite worth the price..
One of my favourite places to grab desserts with friends! As you can see, I come here quite a lot and I’ve tried most of their menu, from the shaved ice, hot desserts, and more. I’ve been to their location on Kingsway, Crystal, and I bought from their Richmond Night Market vendor as well. I love the huge selection of toppings offered- fruits, jelly, etc and it’s always a lot of fun choosing different combos. My favourites from here are the tapioca drinks and tofu puddings, yumm. By the way, there’s a 10% discount for takeouts, and you can also get a stamp card- freebie with every 10 desserts, sweet!
Tray & I decided to give this Kamei Royale a visit after seeing some delectable shots of their food from her sister. The wait was quite long, but it was Friday night so that was understandable. However, the service was extremely slow too, it took them forever to come back with the bill.. The food was good, nothing too special though.. We got the seafood udon, pork gyoza, and out of everything, the salmon tacos were my favourite.
Stepho’s Souvlaki Greek Taverna
I’ve been to both locations of Stepho’s now and I really love this place! The portions are humongous, especially for the cheap prices, and the taste is just as wonderful. From my two visits, I’ve tried the moussaka, tiroboukes (their signature fried cheese balls) and roast lamb, everything is delicious! (I can’t finish a single entree, and both times I went, I was completely famished..) The staff are surprisingly very welcoming and patient to us annoying indecisive people, and gave good recommendations too.. xD
Ambiance: 8/10Total: 9/10
I never had true, authentic tacos before La Taqueria, and boy was I missing out.. tacos are freaking amazing! The place was so packed, with the line trailing down into the sidewalk.. It wasn’t even a holiday, I went with a group of friends for lunch on a random Tuesday off from school. So that gives you an idea of how popular it is. Luckily, we managed to steal a seat. We all shared some tacos which were amazing, and I shared a veggie quesadilla with Tray, but I found that just a bit too greasy. The food came out pretty quickly too, despite the amount of people.
Thanks for staying until the end again! Keep an eye out for the third and final part~
